Biography
Wendy Jung is originally from Taiwan and was born on November 27, 1996. She graduated with a Bachelor of Architectural Studies in Architecture from Victoria University of Wellington and completed coursework towards a Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Structures) at Wellington Institute of Technology. Wendy has been living in New Zealand for the past ten years. During her studies, she became proficient in various architectural programs used in her assessed projects, and her studies at WelTec introduced her to New Zealand Building Codes. Wendy's experience as a Detailer in Placemakers enabled her to gain practical knowledge in her field. She enjoys model making and drawing up construction drawings for her projects, exploring the design and materiality of structural elements. Having lived in diverse countries such as Taiwan, China (Hong Kong), and New Zealand, Wendy has developed an interest in the distinctive national identity of a building style.

Be Bold Value Awards, April 2023: Recognised across Manufacturing and Estimations team for creating the design guide for the Trimmable Posi-strut offer.
Graduated from the "PlaceMakers Frame & Truss Trainee Detailer Program", trained and guided two in-house trainee detailers.
Produced detailed drawings for 80+ projects ranging from residential, big-scale home developments for Fletcher Living to commercial buildings for Naylor Love.
Interpreted architectural and engineering drawings and applied knowledge of NZ Building Codes, construction principles and materials, using CAD software (MiTek 20/20) to produce accurate designs.
Conducted calculations and simulations to ensure structural integrity, recommended changes, and served as the first point of contact for remedial issues.
Created artwork illustrations and 3D renderings for PlacemakersTrimmable Posi-Strut Brochure using Adobe Illustrator, Rhino 3D, and Vray, showcasing technical and visual skills in innovative design for the NZ construction industry.

Provide administrative and office support for a team of four staff.
Administrative support includes creating databases, researching and compiling data, proofreading, translating and editing publications.
Assists in exhibition curation as directed, to include retrieval of materials, researching and verifying information, correspondence with artists.
Utilise computer applications (AutoCAD, Photoshop) in the spatial design process. Generating museum exhibition design plans using AutoCAD software.
Photographer Assistant (Internship)

Hot Spring Project Studio – Kaohsiung City, Taiwan
Liaising with internal departments, answering calls, and making travel arrangements. Maintaining an events calendar, and sending reminders.
Booking customer appointments and setting up meet-and-greets. Organizing, unpacking, and setting up cameras and lighting equipment at locations. Assisting with positioning during the shoot.
